Rebuilding NOLA

Five years ago tonight I was updating CNN.com on the overnight shift as Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans.  It was very real to me to see a lot of the raw footage that wasn't shown on TV, but it became even more real when I saw it in person.

In 2006 and 2007 I went down to the city with a few GT MBA classmates to help rebuild homes through the St. Bernard Project.  It was a lot of fun to help people out, a good team building activity for my classmates and of course our contributions to the local economy (Bourbon Street) cannot go unmentioned. There is still a lot left to do - thousands of people are still living in FEMA trailers. Donate your time and money if you can!
